The proposal is simple, try to differentiate the Persians from the other civilizations in the game. I don't want to make big changes here, but start with small changes, encouraging players to look deeper and deeper. I started with the Persians because it's not a very played civilization and favorite.
We had many opinions on how to start this work with the Persians, as you can see here:
Here is the list of changes:
Spearman cavalry is now trained in phase 1 along with skirmisher. Only civilization with two cavalry available in phase 1.
Your CC can train all types of cavalry except champions. The only civilization to be able to train all types of cavalry in CC.
When phased, Persian cavalry gain +10% batch training speed.
Two Persian unic technologies (training) are removed (balance).
Persia can now build ice houses. Has an aura of food gain per second. It also has a technology to increase this gain.
Immortal can switch between spearman and archer.
Apadana now only trickle metal and stone (balance).
Immortal tech now does not penalize the health of the immortals (balance)
The intention is for the Persians to be a civilization for those who like to play with chivalry.
Icehouse can sustain a good amount of cavalry in long games. The player can still opt for the immortals who can now switch to archer. He is the strongest archer in the game, as he has a higher health than the others, but he is weaker than the others when he is a spearman. So the enemy player has a chance to chase when in archer form without losing all their cavalry when immortal returns to spearman.
