[Gameplay] - Let Spartans start with a Champion.

Description

[Gameplay] - Let Spartans start with a Champion.

The Kushites start their games with an healer, the Mauryas with an elephant. The Spartans were known for their superior hoplites; this patch gives them one champion infantry at game start, to make them feel a bit different from other factions. It won't suddenly make them win games, although it could help a bit defending against very early raids.

Me and Feldfeld tried this out in a 1vs1 and the champion provides an early advantage that is very hard to deal with. The early champion forces the opposing player to either abandon his starting woodline or take heavy loses fighting back against the champion.

This commit now has outstanding concerns.Jan 19 2021, 6:43 PM

Thanks for testing!
Should it be reverted? Or perhaps remove the starting cavalry to compensate?

Maybe give them a Skiritai instead of a proper champion?

I'd rather revert. We can experiment with this for a25

The champion could have been kept just by removing one citizen spear, that would balance the economic damage done to the enemy.

Feel free to make a patch for A25.
