This patch renames the Carthaginian “mausoleum” to “cenotaph”. Μαυσωλεῖον (Mausōleion) literally means “belonging to Mausolus” and specifically refers to his enormous tomb in Halicarnassus (now Bodrum). Only in later centuries the word was applied metaphorically and eventually became generic.
For the (unused) Carthaginian structure, the correct word is “cenotaph” (which literally means “empty tomb”), a technical term appropiate for a war memorial or monument erected for ancestors or heroes.
